Three businesses in one. It had to feel like one club.
Members Tasmania isn't a giveaway site. It's a subscription club where the marketplace, the partner discounts and the giveaways all have to earn their place — and all have to be legally structured so that entries flow from membership, not from buying tickets. Four tiers with different listing allowances, merchandise discounts, entry caps and friend-sharing rules had to be enforced automatically, every month, for every member.
On top of that, the marketplace had to be real: member-only vehicle, caravan, boat and bike listings with RedBook data, make and kilometre filters, listing limits by tier, and a general marketplace alongside. Plus merch, a partner portal, a become-a-partner pipeline and a Tasmania-only residency rule. All of it on a stack the client's team could run from Facebook Lives and an office phone.
Structure the tiers. Build the marketplace. Make the giveaways compliant.
Engineer the membership tiers
Four recurring subscriptions with tier-based entitlements enforced by the platform: active listing limits (1, 3, 5, 10), merch discounts (5% to 50%), accumulating giveaway entries with monthly caps, and the ability to share benefits with 2, 4 or 9 friends. First-month promotions and cancel-anytime built in.
Build the automotive marketplace
A member-only buy-and-sell platform partnered with RedBook: create-a-listing flow with photos and vehicle data, listing management, make and sort filters, kilometre ranges, and a general marketplace for everything else — without the spam of public classifieds.
Build the member portal and partner network
A logged-in portal for member offers and partner discounts, a public partners directory, and a become-a-partner application flow so the discount network grows on its own.
Build the trade promotion system
Giveaway pages with prize value, draw date and terms, automatic entry allocation by tier, a winners wall, Trade Promotion T&Cs and draws run by a government-certified provider — structured so the giveaways are a benefit of membership, not a product.
Make it runnable by the team
Merch store, Instagram feed, phone-join path, Tasmania-only residency controls and campaign banners the team swaps out for each promotion — Free Fuel Tuesdays, $5,000 weekdays, the monthly major draw — without a developer.
